Your Mission
As a Mainframe Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring operational and application support activities on Z/OS environments (N2 level), guaranteeing the smooth execution of batch processes and production workloads.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling & Monitoring
Define, plan, and execute batch jobs using TWS and Control-M
Monitor processing activities in real time
Handle incidents (abends, dependency issues, SLA breaches)
Daily Operations
Execute and control production processes on Z/OS and Control-M
Perform recovery actions following incidents
Manage system resources (disk space, JES queues, catalogs, GDGs, datasets)
Monitor and manage file transfers, including incident resolution
Support & Continuous Improvement
Provide technical support to application teams
Optimize batch workflows and improve performance
Participate in releases and change management
Perform scheduled and ad-hoc interventions (including off-hours when required)
Documentation & Reporting
Create and maintain operational procedures and documentation
Ensure documentation is up to date
Produce reports on system availability and batch performance
What Weβre Looking For
Experience in Mainframe environments (Z/OS) with N2 production support
Strong knowledge of scheduling tools (TWS, Control-M)
Understanding of batch processing, JES, GDGs, datasets, and file transfers
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Proactive mindset with a focus on reliability and performance
Languages: Fluency in English and French is required
Hybrid Work: 2/3x on-site in Lisbon
