Meritis is a growing consulting firm specializing in financial services. With 30 consultants in Portugal and a strong presence in France, we combine the agility of a boutique firm with the caliber of missions usually found at much larger companies.
What makes us different? We’re small enough to know everyone by name, but work on projects you’d usually only find at much larger firms. We’re selective about our projects and our people - and we invest in both.
The opportunity :
You’ll be embedded as a consultant within a major French banking group in Portugal, working on applications that support Capital Markets, Risk management, or portfolio management. Think: building and evolving the tools that traders and risk managers rely on every day.
What you’ll do
• Develop and maintain full stack applications across the software lifecycle
• Work on front-end (Angular or similar) and/or back-end (Java, .NET/C#) depending on your strengths
• Write clean, tested code in an Agile environment with CI/CD practices
• Collaborate directly with business analysts, project managers, and end users
• Participate in production support and continuous improvement of existing platforms
What we’re looking for
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
• Solid foundations in at least one of: Java, .NET (C#), or Angular - we don’t need you to master all three
• Comfort with SQL and relational databases
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD concepts, and Agile ways of working
• English fluency (B2+). French is a real plus given our client environment
• Someone curious, rigorous, and ready to learn fast in a demanding but rewarding context
Nice to have
• Experience or internships in banking/finance
• Exposure to tools like Jenkins, Jira, BitBucket, Control-M
• Interest in distributed technologies (Kafka, Hadoop) or cloud platforms
