Description
We are looking for a VIE to join the research team at Schlumberger Doll Research (SDR) in Cambridge, Massachusetts β an environment where cutting-edge scientific research is translated into practical applications in the energy sector. The candidate will actively contribute to the development of next-generation process systems aimed at making energy solutions cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable, thereby supporting the reduction of carbon intensity and the development of decarbonization technologies within SLBβs portfolio.
In this context, the VIE will contribute to the development of innovative technologies and tools designed to address the sustainability challenges faced by the energy industry. Responsibilities will notably include improving existing processes in oil and gas facilities, with the objectives of increasing energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and minimizing the physical footprint of installations through process intensification.
The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team composed of scientists, engineers, and technical experts to design, prepare, and conduct experiments at both laboratory and pilot scale for the development of new or optimized processes. Responsibilities will include designing and setting up experimental systems, configuring and operating specific instrumentation, and defining appropriate testing protocols. The candidate will also be responsible for designing and executing experimental campaigns, analyzing and interpreting the resulting data, and communicating findings to the projectβs scientific leads.
In close collaboration with the team, the candidate will also be expected to translate experimental results into industrially scalable process concepts, contribute to scalable process design, and develop process simulation models using specialized tools such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, gPROMS, or equivalent software.
