Mission Overview
As a V.I.E Project Purchaser, you will join the Generation & Transmission Business Group in Oslo and become part of an international Project Purchasing team supporting complex, large-scale energy infrastructure projects worldwide.
You will contribute to the strategy, planning, execution, and follow-up of purchasing activities for assigned project packages. Your mission will be key in ensuring high-quality and cost-efficient project execution through strong supplier management, structured procurement processes, and close coordination with project stakeholders.
This position offers exposure to international projects, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic procurement within a global industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for several purchasing packages simultaneously, in line with Nexans Project Model and Purchasing Operating Model.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Managing all purchasing-related activities for assigned packages (supplier sourcing, selection, strategy definition, cost evaluation, negotiations, and contract placement).
Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies adapted to the complexity of each package.
Contributing to tender documentation preparation and cost/market analysis.
Participating in supplier negotiations, clarification meetings, and kick-off meetings.
Creating Purchase Orders in SAP and approving invoices in accordance with company procedures.
Following up suppliers during project execution to ensure quality, timely deliveries, and contractual compliance.
Monitoring invoicing and ensuring payments are aligned with agreements.
Reporting savings and cost avoidance according to internal procedures.
Ensuring documentation (RFQs, POs, supplier correspondence) is properly stored in PLM/TeamCenter systems.
Qualifying new suppliers and participating in supplier audits when required.
Ensuring strict compliance with Nexans General Management Procedures, Corporate Purchasing Rules, and Code of Ethics.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Tender teams, Engineering, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure procurement performance and project success.

Apply a Total Cost of Ownership approach in purchasing decisions.
Support monthly reporting, KPI follow-up, and procurement plans.
Ensure high-quality contract execution and minimize risks, variations, and claims.
Contribute proactively to team performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
