Objective of the mission : VIE will work on 2K polyurethane adhesives for electric vehicles, focusing on developing and improving structural adhesives with varying thermal conductivity. VIE will also support efforts to formulate 2K polyurethane adhesives for structural applications in external body components. This hands‑on role requires working in the R&D laboratory and conducting mechanical testing. The position may also involve participating in customer trials and engaging directly with customers.
Main tasks :
Complete the safety training requirements and train to safely carry out laboratory operations.
• Perform lab-scale operations and handle hazardous chemicals in compliance with established safety procedures
• Execute lab scale synthesis, formulation and testing of novel two component polyurethane/epoxy/acrylic structural adhesives. (Hands-on position)
• Characterize the adhesion and mechanical properties of the materials
• Examine and assess existing IP relevant to the field.
• Design, plan and conduct experiments in collaboration with senior personnel
• Analyze the data and prepare summaries for internal and external presentations
• Translate lab results into scalable, commercialized products; support plant-scale production
• Develop an understanding of field application and performance requirements
• Organize, set up and conduct structural adhesive testing with existing products
• Manage day-to-day laboratory activities.
• Maintain professional and courteous work environment
• Ability to perform lab work independently and under the direction of senior personnel.
• Work in cross-functional teams (sales, technical service, and manufacturing) to address customer requirements and concerns
• Able to lift 40 to 50 lbs pails and requires standing for 4 to 8 to monitor reactions.
