Description
Junior Wagon Engineer (JWE) is in the process of technical education and is supporting Wagon Engineers (WE) and Safety Engineer (SE) in operations related to ensuring safety of wagons and limiting maintenance costs and down-time to a minimum.
He is supporting the on-site inspections and monitoring of the maintenance suppliers but also giving daily support to Fleet Management team.
Technical understanding and capacity of analysis are the main characteristics of this function. The mission of JWE is:
Maintenance:
- Monitor the maintenance suppliers by technical visits/audits (according to Technical Visit Plan DT-
239) and quality checks (wagon exit inspections) in agreement with WE/SE,
- Support investigations on sites,
- Establish instructions for corrective repairs and select the workshop to perform it (for damages on
tracks) as a backup of WE
- Support the realization of maintenance with the maintenance suppliers as a backup to WE:
o Establishing necessary technical instructions to workshops,
o Providing technical support to workshops,
o Validate the revision dates of wagons and wheelsets and any extensions as required,
o Support WE in identification of parts and processing spare parts requests ,
o Support Fleet Managers in validation of exit documentation,
o Ensure the recording and traceability of maintenance,
- Make workshops fulfill their requirements (downtimes, quality claims, documentation),
- Actively support Fleet Managers when required in establishing proof of Lessee responsibility.
Deliveries/Redeliveries:
- Deliver support for Fleet Managers and Wagon Resource Manager on Deliveries/Redeliveries of
wagons,
- Under supervision of WE perform the Delivery/Redelivery inspections, incl. support to Fleet
Managers for rebilling
ECM responsibilities:
- Support WE/SE in development of TOUAXβs maintenance manuals,
- Support WE/SE in collection of return of experience from maintenance providers, customers and
RUs,
- Support WE/SE in investigations on incident reports
Wagon fleet:
- Support WE in creation and managing of parts and part types in Kheops for the Purchase and
Logistics Activity.
