Description
Schlumberger is the leading technology provider for the oil and gas industryโincluding Digital and Software technologies.
The Interpretation Engineering Software Engineers develop software applications for Geologists, Petrophysicist, Geophysicists and Reservoir Engineers on top of Schlumberger platforms โ such as Techlog, Petrel and now the DELFI Cloud ecosystem. Most of those applications target upstream Oil and Gas workflows, but an increasing number of them supports Energy Transition workflows.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Interpretation Engineering Software Engineers are responsible for the software product design, implementation, and delivery. They architect the application; they convert experimental computation codes into production-quality, high-performance, maintainable codes; they integrate ML and AI logic in the application workflows; they work with Petrotechnical Domain Experts to build customized UI and graphics; they also develop unit and integration test to help V&V the products, and minimize sustaining costs as the underlying software platform and ecosystem evolve.
The Interpretation Engineering Software Engineers leverage a mixed Technology Stack โ as most algorithms are written in C/C++, C# or Python, while the underlying technology is evolving from traditional desktop environments to micro-service-based ecosystems designed to work on the Cloud, the Edge or in between. This in turn requires both developing an in-depth expertise in some technology, while staying abreast of technological evolution.
