Description
The Merchandising and Planning VIE plays a crucial role in supporting the Merchandising and Planning department for North America for Retail and Wholesale by providing essential analytical, operational, and administrative assistance. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining key reports, including weekly wholesale reports, completing a weekly departmental presentation deck, facilitating efficient inventory movement, managing pre-order lists, reviewing sold orders to optimize fulfillment, assisting with store assortment building, aiding in the review and accuracy of wholesale assortment files, and developing compelling presentations to support strategic decision-making. The role involves regular interaction with key business partners such as Retail Store Managers, Regional Directors, and Area Sales Managers to ensure alignment and effective execution of merchandising strategies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and be able to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
β’ Inventory Management Support:
o Initiate and track inventory transfers between locations to optimize stock levels and fulfill demand.
o Suggest strategic inventory movements based on sales data, inventory health, and storesβ needs.
o Monitor inventory discrepancies and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
o Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and system updates.
o Manage and maintain the pre-order list, ensuring accuracy, timely updates, and clear communication regarding incoming inventory.
o Review sold orders regularly and proactively recommend stock rebalancing strategies to ensure efficient fulfillment and minimize order delays.
o Assist in the development and refinement of store assortments, leveraging data and insights to optimize product selection and placement for various retail locations.
o Aid in the thorough review of the wholesale assortment file quarterly, meticulously checking for accuracy and completeness.
o Communicate effectively with Area Sales Managers regarding problematic returns, providing necessary details and collaborating on resolutions.
β’ Reporting & Analysis:
o Develop, generate, and distribute regular and ad-hoc merchandising reports (e.g., sales performance, inventory levels, trend analysis).
o Generate and distribute weekly wholesale reports, analyzing performance and identifying key trends or issues.
o Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in all reports.
o Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, providing insights to the Merchandising and Planning team.
o Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary data for comprehensive reporting.
β’ Presentation Development:
o Design and build professional and impactful presentations for internal stakeholders.
o Complete the weekly departmental presentation deck, compiling data, insights, and key updates into a cohesive and visually engaging format.
o Translate complex data and insights into clear, concise, and visually appealing slides.
o Support the team in preparing for meetings, reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
β’ Administrative Support:
o Perform various administrative tasks to support the Merchandising and Planning team, including scheduling, meeting coordination, and document management.
o Organize and maintain departmental files, records, and databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
o Assist with communication and correspondence both internally and externally as needed.
o Support general office operations and ensure a smooth workflow within the department.
o Manage orders for reward redemptions as part of the company's incentive programs, ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment.
