Overview
The Strategic Buyer is responsible for executing sourcing activities, driving cost‑reduction initiatives, and supporting the development and implementation of the sourcing strategy within the assigned commodity area. This role focuses on supplier management, market analysis, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure optimal procurement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, including cost‑reduction projects and supplier selection.
Implement segment strategies and support strategic purchasing activities within the commodity.
Manage supplier relationship processes, including performance evaluation and continuous improvement programs.
Negotiate contracts and coordinate supplier integration plans with internal teams.
Monitor market trends affecting availability, pricing, and performance of materials or services.
Partner with internal clients to understand sourcing needs, define service levels, and analyze buyer and market profiles.
Contribute to broader transformation initiatives (e.g., digitalization, sustainability) as required.
Qualifications & Experience
2 to 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain.
Practical knowledge gained through education and hands‑on work experience.
Ability to work independently with general supervision.
Strong problem‑solving skills; challenges may be difficult but typically not complex.
Capability to influence stakeholders by explaining facts, policies, and best practices.
